Elbasan is a large city in the physical centre of Albania, less than an hour from the capital of Albania. It has always been an important historical town. The ancient Roman road ‘Via Egnatia’ which connected the Adriatic coast with Byzantium passes through the castle in Elbasan and this road was important in the spread of Christianity throughout the region.
YWAM has been present in Elbasan since 2003. Our main focus has been a church plant in an impoverished Roma gypsy community, but we also are excited about what God is doing in all the churches in Elbasan and we seek to promote unity and work together to see His kingdom come in this city.
